Bundle discount calculator: is your offer still profitable?
A bigger discount sells more units, but can it still pay? Enter your price, your cost per unit and up to three tiers, and see the order value and the profit of each one side by side.
Calculator
| Tier | Order value | Profit per order | vs. 1 unit |
|---|
How to read it
- Profit per order is what is left after product cost and the shipping you pay. A discount can lower profit per unit and still raise profit per order, because shipping and packing are paid once.
- vs. 1 unit shows how much more (or less) a tier earns than a single-unit order. If it is positive, every customer who picks that tier is worth more to you.
- If a tier shows a loss, the offer only makes sense as a deliberate loss leader. Usually the fix is a smaller discount on the bigger tier.
Good starting points
- Margins above 60% (cosmetics, supplements, coffee): 10% off 2, 20% off 3 is usually safe.
- Margins of 30–50% (apparel, home goods): try 5% off 2 and 10–15% off 3, or a free gift instead of a price cut.
- Low margins: offer free shipping on 2+ instead of a discount. It often costs less and converts as well.
Once you have numbers that work, the quantity breaks guide shows how to put them on your product page.
