Shopify variant grid: sell colours × sizes in one table
Shopify's variant picker shows one combination at a time. For team kits, uniforms, trade orders and anything bought in mixed sizes, a grid of every colour and size is much faster. Here is how to set one up.
Why the default picker is slow for mixed orders
A football club ordering kits needs 4 small, 9 medium, 7 large and 2 extra large. With buttons for colour and size plus one quantity box, that is four separate trips to Add to cart, and the buyer has to remember what they already added.
What a variant grid shows
- One row per colour (with a colour dot) and one column per size.
- In every cell: − / +, a quantity box you can type into, In stock or Sold out, and the price of that variant.
- A running count and total, and the discount the order has reached.
Set it up with ZS Bundles
- Install ZS Bundles and turn it on in your theme from the app's home page.
- Create a Mix & Match bundle with the product in the box.
- Set Variants to Grid. The first option (usually colour) becomes the rows, the second (usually size) the columns.
- Optional: add quantity tiers so bigger orders save more, and set a minimum and maximum.
- Publish. Every variant the buyer chose goes into the cart as its own line.

Good to know
- Prices can differ per variant. Each cell shows its own price, and the total adds them up.
- Two options at most. Colour × size works; a product with a third option is not shown as a grid. One-option products appear as a simple list.
- Works on phones. On small screens the table scrolls sideways.
