How to create a mix and match bundle on Shopify (build your own box)

Why Shopify's own tools do not quite cover it

Shopify's free Shopify Bundles app handles fixed bundles (always the same products) and multipacks. It does not let the customer choose the contents. A discount with a minimum quantity can give "any 3 for 15% off", but the shopper builds the box alone, one product page at a time, with no idea how far they are from the deal.

What a good mix and match box needs

• A picker where the customer chooses the items and sees "2 of 3 chosen".
• The box price shown as they go.
• One line in the cart ("Any 3 Tees") with the chosen items listed underneath, not three loose lines.
• Stock kept per item, so a sold-out flavour cannot be picked.

Building it with ZS Bundles

1. Install the app, press Turn on in theme, and Save.
2. Create bundle deal → Mix & Match.
3. Add the products the customer can choose from, and set the box size (3, 6, …) and the price or saving.
4. Optionally offer several box sizes ("any 3" and "any 6") and a gift message for gift boxes.
5. Publish. To give the box its own page, add the ZS Bundle block to a page and paste the bundle's ID.

The box arrives in the cart and at checkout as one line with its contents underneath, and the price is the box price, set by Shopify at checkout.
